I found this book very effective in establishing the basic structure of grammar in the mind of a new student. It has some rules that are continuously asked in examinations. At some point, you may need a teacher to understand its rules and sentences but 99% you can beat this book up your own. This book is also a good one in market. Simpler language than former one. If you are a fresher, you can study it with your own. I found this book very important for revision tactics before exam. I advise you to study one of the two books listed above and then, second one. For example, if you study with S.P. Bakshi, read General English by Neetu Singh too for better preparations. It makes your preparation better and builds confidence in you. After reading both the books, revise or check your preparations with The Mirror of Common Errors. I repeat, do not study it before reading S.P. Bakshi's or Neetu Singh's. First complete them then, read and learn it. This book has immense number of questions. It contains some difficult errors that are asked in difficult exams like CAT, HM etc. So if you study it first before first two books, you can be demoralized.
