Every Man in His Humour – Full Detailed Summary | Act Wise-Narrative

Image
Every Man in His Humour – Full Detailed Narrative Prologue The play begins with a direct address to the audience. The prologue explains Ben Jonson’s goals: this is not a play filled with fantastical absurdities or adventures in far-off lands. Instead, it will be realistic, showing contemporary people of Elizabethan London and their “humours”—exaggerated personality traits stemming from the old theory of the four bodily fluids (blood, phlegm, yellow bile, black bile), believed to shape temperament. Jonson promises that through familiar “deeds and language,” audiences will laugh at human follies and recognize their own faults. Act I – Letters, Introductions, Deceptions At his London home,  Old Knowell , a scholar, speaks with his witty servant  Brainworm  and asks him to call his son  Edward Knowell . Knowell, once a scholar himself, is glad to see Edward educated, but he disapproves of his fascination with poetry and “lighter arts.” Soon,  Master Stephen ,...

My Goa Trip in April, 2022 || Cuncolim, Panjim and Divar Island

Whoever heard about my trip to Goa in April, said, "Why Goa in off season?" I always answered, "I can be in Goa in any season." Yup! I love Goa. I don't know why it is the case but I love this union territory so much. I think I find Goa more close to those places I have read about in literature. That's why I always crave for going there, no matter what season is going on.  The main reason for visiting Goa was to meet up with friends. Senneil hosted us warmly. Lets talk about it day by day.  Day 1  Fontainhas, Panjim   My flight landed in Goa around 10:35 at night and took a taxi to Panjim. Senneil has already booked a  hostel for me and Hrushikesh in Panjim. The hostel we stayed in was The Marquito's. It was a beautifull property and in budget. You can obviously book them in your trip.  In the morning, Hrushikesh showed me some places around Fontainhas that Senneil had showed him the day before. I visited some beautiful buildings in Fontainhas, built wit...

How Difficult Your Life Is?

Image
A man came and told me how difficult his life is. He told me he has done with it. I told him.... I know a girl who isn't happy in her body. She searches her existence and finds HIMSELF in fetters. I told him I know a girl who was raped by her father in childhood and now, she is being beaten up by her husband. She can't live with her husband and can't go back to her father's house. I told him that I know a boy who loves a girl, wants to tie the knot with her. But, society doesn't allow him because she belongs to a different lineage. Do you imagine the plight of a lover? I told him I know a woman who dreams of achieving something. She has been a brilliant student, but her in laws don't let her study because they think she belongs to the kitchen.  I told him... I know a man who wants to rest but can't do the same because he has tons of responsibilities. He has tired... may be... he seems though.  I told him I know a family who lost its sons recently, and now t...
